Rumble Strips are an effective traffic management solution that can withstand the toughest weather conditions. Made from high-density, high-strength rubber, these strips are built to last on Australian roads.

How Rumble Strips are improving safety

  1. The installation of Rumble Strips across outer metropolitan Melbourne is now complete. According to the Vic Roads website, Rumble Strips have contributed to halving the number of vehicles accidentally travelling out of their lane and running off the road.
  2. Acknowledging the positive impact of Rumble Strips, the NSW Government has approved a $46 million initiative to install them along key regional routes. This extensive project aims to improve line markings on these routes, spanning over 2700 kilometres in regional New South Wales highways. The installation of Rumble Strips is intended to address driver fatigue and enhance overall safety. The funding for this project is provided by the New South Wales State Government as part of the Saving Lives Accelerated package, which has allocated $46 million for the installation of Advanced Temporary Line Markings (ATLM) on high-risk rural roads within the next three years. From the Transport for NSW website, The first stage of the program includes the Cobb Highway (Hay to Moama) Castlereagh Highway (Lithgow to Dunedoo), Golden Highway (Singleton to Dubbo), Kamilaroi Highway (Bourke to Willow Tree), Gwydir Highway (Grafton to Moree) and Oxley Highway (Wauchope to Coonabarabran)

Benefits of the rubber Rumble Strips

  • Enhanced durability: Crafted from high-density, high-strength rubber, these Rumble Strips exhibit exceptional resilience, allowing them to withstand even the harshest weather conditions. This not only ensures their longevity but also makes them a sustainable and worthwhile long-term investment. With a compliance rating of up to 20 tonnes, they are ideal for heavy truck and vehicle areas.
  • Speed reduction: Despite people being aware of the importance of road safety, adherence to traffic regulations is not always guaranteed. The presence of Rumble Strips serves as a tangible deterrent, effectively compelling drivers to reduce their speed and thus significantly reducing the occurrence of accidents on the road.
  • Effortless installation: Installing the Rumble Strips is a seamless and efficient process, saving both time and effort.
  • Flexibility: Does the road feature a slight bend? No problem. These strips possess the flexibility to adapt to slight bends on the road, ensuring their consistent functionality and effectiveness.
  • Environmentally friendly: The Rumble Strips are not only composed of 100% recycled materials but are also entirely recyclable. This eco-conscious design promotes sustainability while effectively enhancing road safety.

There’s no doubt that an increase in Rumble Strips is having a positive impact on the roads, and it’s good to see that safety is becoming a big priority. With their long-lasting construction, ability to promote adherence to speed limits, easy installation process, adaptability to different road configurations, and eco-friendly composition, these Rumble Strips provide a reliable and responsible solution for enhancing safety on the roads.
